The annual prestigious London Peace Awards took of in the City Hall on 20th September with Mayor Boris Johnson handing out special awards to those who have been contributing positive work to the community. During the London riots, there were a lot of heroes within the community who stepped up to make a difference in their own communities. The Mayor acknowledged the work by those who promoted peace in the city thereby helping the community.
The London Peace Awards was set up by the Peace Alliance to develop and push forward solidarity in the community and also to bring peace and harmony. The Mayor commented that the essence of the village needs to be put back into the city.
